A forum at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa will look at business harness new technology and tools to enable positive hybrid work strategies and create high performance workspaces and offices.

JLL, the international real estate advisory company and Tétris Design x Build, a leading design and build company, will present a forum on Wednesday August 30 at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa at the V&A Waterfront.

Envision, High Performance Real Estate and Workplaces will be part an in-person experience for 100 invited guests and a live global webinar broadcast, providing new insights and perspectives from respected global JLL experts with leading local Western Cape business leaders.

The central theme of the event will be on the future of work – a relevant and rapidly advancing trending topic. Co-CEO of JLL Africa Peter Harris says the event will bring together a unique combination of dynamic global and local thought leaders in conversation about AI, corporate real estate technology and strategies for encouraging people to return to work through the creation of rewarding workplaces which ultimately builds successful future cities.

One of Envision’s keynote presentations will be delivered by Singapore-based Ben Hamley, Data-Driven Innovation and Strategy Director for JLL Asia-Pacific. Hamley has worked at the forefront of new technology development, business strategy and digital innovation for companies in almost every sector for over a decade. His primary focus is the development of a Science of Good Work and understanding how physical spaces impact people’s capacity for innovation and creativity using neuroscience measurement tools to offer insights into this relationship. By measuring where and how people are at their most creative, the design of how we work, apart from where we work will be key to strategic conversations for work spaces.

Hamley will be joined by fellow keynote speaker, Andre Bothma, Growth Principal at JLL Spark, a division of JLL Technologies committed to transforming commercial real estate by investing in PropTech innovation. With over 20 years of experience in corporate real estate, Bothma’s passion for PropTech is driven by the innovative technology that connects people and their buildings, enables efficiencies, and creates more sustainable outcomes in the design, build and management of real estate.

Expert panel of industry leaders

Backed by years of research and industry experience, the keynote presentations will be followed by a panel discussion delving into the most pertinent topics relevant for occupiers, developers, and investors in the built environment today. The panel of thought leaders includes Nicasio Gutiérrez CEO of Tétris Design and Build. With over 23 years of experience as an architect and with several years as part of the global leadership team of Tétris Design and Build, Gutiérrez promises to provide a unique perspective on taking a client-focused approach to the creation and delivery of bespoke, complex design and build projects.

He is joined by Joanne McKay, Client and Culture Director at Webber Wentzel in alliance with Linklaters who is responsible for enabling the firm’s client growth strategy, with a focus on client service and differentiation through innovation.

Completing the panel, from Spear REIT Ltd, Co-Founder and CEO Quintin Rossi brings years of experience in the management of real estate and heads up the only JSE-listed entity that focuses on assets in the Western Cape focused on Cape Town CBD.

Facilitated by Tango Matoti, head of Workplace Strategy and Design at Tétris South Africa, the panel will match and compare insights from Asia Pacific, EMEA, MENA, North America, and South Africa in one forum.
