New from fabric designer Scion, and named after the Sri Lankan festival, Esala is a celebration of joyous colour and a fusion of patterns, motifs and semi-plains. Fabrics and wallpapers, new and bestselling have been brought together to build a story that introduces a range of design solutions for the contemporary home.
“We’re thrilled to launch Esala, our easy-to-use new collection of co-ordinated schemes, which sees Scion wallpapers and fabrics in one place for the first time. This concept provides a visual representation of how the products all work alongside each other to create an entire scheme. We’re encouraging consumers to choose their favourite 2020 colour trends and looks, embracing new design stories to recreate the look in their own home,” says Hannah Bowen, head of design at Scion.
The lookbook incorporates new and most-loved wallpapers, prints, embroideries, weaves, semi-plains and feature designs, with colour groups that include Spiced Pear, Tropicana, Fruit Salad and Candy alongside standout pops of beautiful, outspoken colour.
Bowen advises layering oversized jungle plants, characterful motifs, stylised hand-drawn florals and pairing angular geometrics with textural plains and semi plains for a fresh interior alive with creativity.
In addition, 20 colours from Esala Plains are included in the lookbook, providing a perfect finishing touch to the collection and allowing you to create a sense of pace and balance in a space. The complete Esala Plains library of 35 colours is available separately and cleverly tailored across a range of key trend colours. The launch comprises one lookbook containing fabrics and wallpapers.
