The need for efficient urbanism is becoming more prevalent in our communities as 15-minute lifestyles mushroom, and property purchases are driven by convenience, transport, location and lifestyle.
Expertise and experience have truly come to the fore as Seaton’s development team pushes forward on several pivotal milestones in just over a 12-month period. Delivering on their promises, the Collins Residential team is on track to achieving their vision of transforming the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. Two of the key projects undertaken by the team is the construction and development of Municipal Road P228 and the N2 interchange which will create convenient access to and from the development as well as easing traffic flow for the greater community.
Geoff Perkins of Collins Residential explains, “Our team has been hard at work ensuring we achieve the milestones we have committed to with our buyers and local municipality. We anticipate breaking ground on the N2 interchange in February 2023 with its completion forecast for the same year. This year, we have installed bulk civil services including water, fibre, sewage, storm water, electricity and tar roads to two precincts within Seaton, which has also unlocked transfers of land in these same areas.” In addition to services, the perimeter of the development has been fenced and earthworks have commenced on the Seaton Country Club cricket oval and the Equestrian facilities which include the paddocks and clubhouse. “If we thought sales momentum was impressive this year, the rate of development following these sales has been exceptional. The April rains meant our construction teams upped the ante by working 7-days a week to get back onto the program and deliver to our homeowners before year-end, a feat we are extremely proud to have achieved,” adds Perkins.
To date, Seaton has transferred over 100 of its sites in three of its precincts with a further 100 anticipated to be released in the next 12-months. “We have gained tremendous momentum and we plan on continuing as such. The recent release of Phase 4 known as The Ridge has been met with great uptake and we look forward to unlocking further opportunities in 2023 as we reshape the region,” says Perkins.
Although progress has been rapid, great care and dedication is being taken to restore and rehabilitate the grasslands and forests in the estate to bring them back to their former glory. Landscaping and the restoration of the 52 hectares of green spaces are a priority for the developer who has strategically balanced the construction of the roads to work hand-in hand with their rehabilitation goals. To create a symbiotic relationship between nature and life, the homes on the estate are designed around the natural environment. Life on the estate will bring a sense of wholeness and reconnection to nature. The landscape lends itself to creating a safe outdoor lifestyle that KwaZulu-Natal enjoys.
“While we reflect on the achievements of 2022, Collins Residential will ensure that 2023 maintains good traction and sees the delivery of infrastructure that will not only benefit Seaton residents but KwaZulu-Natal North” ends Perkins.
